Struggling with debt in Manchester

Hi Martin,
I'm struggling to decide what to do at the moment as the company I run, a large, once successful football club in Manchester, is in £500m of debt and things are steadily going down hill.
I've largely got away with doing most things on the cheap, cutting my cloth accordingly some might say, to try to bring the debt under control. For instance I've fleeced the fans for more money every year, and make them pay for cup matches they don't even want to go to. It's a master stroke really, because another recently more successful club local to us, doesn't do this and I've managed to hoodwink our customers into mocking them for this relaxed approach. They fell for it hook, line and sinker. I also bought a few players recently, nothing special, but managed to convince the media to talk them up to ballon d'or standard. I really don't know how we get away with it, it's pretty laughable, as the other club local to us even sing songs about a dreadful defender we have when they bought one of the top 5 best strikers in the world.
But I digress, my main issue now is the lack lustre performance we're turning out, as I run the risk of the customers wising up to my flea market approach whilst charging top whack for the pleasure. Really, I could do with a new manager, but this would cost top dollar and the one we have is actually good value for money - although I have to agree with the customers that the quality of football is turgid, hoof it up the pitch stuff. It's a real head scratcher and I hope you can help?
Regards,
Ed.
