Tickbox panel closing down

Options
I haven't found anything on here about this, so I thought I'd let anybody who is a member of Tickbox know that the site is closing down on 31 Dec. They sent me an email about it a few weeks ago warning me that if I didn't use my points before that date I would lose them.

I had accumulated a lot of points so I was able to order 2 DVDs, some eau de toilette and a USB stick, and they all arrived within a few days.

I have enjoyed Tickbox over the years and until a few years ago you used to be entered into a draw for each survey completed and I won £350 of Debenhams vouchers!

Thanks to above used my points mid December. They sent me a wrong item and on 29/12 sent me an email advising they would send the correct item along with a prepaid label to return the wrong item. At no point any mention they were closing website or any other changes. Be interesting to see if correct item turns up.

Unfortunately I had no such email and new nothing about the site closing. I expect that was because I had 60,000+ points and building up to a big gift. Now all lost and didn't even get the chance to do anything about it.

Same for me, no email - even had a newsletter on 28th December with nothing mentioned!

Unfortunately hadn't seen the post until now so all points lost I guess :-(
  • I am absolutely outraged about finding out, just now in mid January, that Tickbox has closed. I wondered why no surveys had been sent to me for a couple of weeks so logged in only to be given the curt message that it closed on December 31st 2015.
I had no email to tell me, nothing was on the website and I am absolutely disgusted and angry as I had over 150,000 points which I was saving for something other than the useless tat.
What a complete con as just gone with now warning and they have stolen all my:mad: hard earned points.
Is there anywhere to complain about this disgusting treatment of its members?
  • Same here. I had no emails or any warning and I even checked my points balance on 31 December and there was no message saying Tickbox was closing down. I only found out today when I went to their website because I hadn't had any surveys from them recently and assumed BT was blocking their emails. It's a pity there was no warning on the MSE weekly newsletter.
Not happy at all. Luckily I'm not as badly off as some of you - I only lost around 3500 points. I've had this happen before so I usually cash survey points in as soon as I can, but there's been nothing worth having for ages. If I'd known though I could have found something to use them up.
  • I wish I'd received an email from them. I was a member for 10 years. Today I logged on to find out why I hadn't heard from them recently. I've lost 1000s of points.
  • I'm gutted, I logged on today to see if I had enough points to buy an sd card to find that the site has closed! Never had an email informing me or I would have made sure I used my points before closing. Think it's really sly of tickbox and they should give everyone a reward to the value of the points we had before they closed.

The correct item was sent along with a prepaid label to return previously wrongly sent item, which I've still to send back.

Interestingly it goes back to maximiles so why they couldn't transfer unused points to this site is beyond me as they clearly have some affiliation
  • I was just thinking I had not heard from Tickbox for a while and I too had accumulated thousands of points. No email, I have just checked. But in checking I found the confirmation that I had bought some Christmas presents with some of my points, which I had forgotten as so much has happened here since. So at least Tickbox has not ridden into the sunset with all my points. Very shabby way to close a scheme.
Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.
  • I've been a member of Tickbox for years and had been saving my points to get a specific reward. I was just thinking that I hadn't had any emails from them for a while so I went into the website only to discover that they closed on 31 December!!

I didn't receive any correspondence about this. If I had, I would have spent my points on something else.

Does anyone know who owned Tickbox? When I went onto their website it was encouraging people to join Valued Opinions, Opinion People, Pure Profile and Toluna. I presume they are all owned by the same company so may try and contact them to find out what has happened to my points.

It's worrying because there are a few sites where I'm saving points and don't want to lose any more points if sites close without telling anyone.
