Please help!

Hi,

I was hoping someone might be able to help me please.

Since leaving University i have being paying off a couple of debts, one of them is under control but the other one has now become a real muddle and i am unsure what to do.

Let me explain...

I have being paying off a debt to Natwest from a Student overdraft i had through a company called Bryan Carter Solicitors. I had payments originally set at £40 p/m, i paid a few of these then advised that i could not afford that amount and it was dropped to £30.

When i requested bank statements from Natwest of this account i realised that when the account was closed it was in the region of £2100....the debt i am paying off is at the moment on £2800, so i call BCS and requested that a hold be placed on the account until Natwest can explain why there is such a difference in the amounts. I sent a letter of to them and i am yet to hear anything back from them. The 20 day hold that was placed on the account by BCS expired and i called a couple of days later to request an extension, they refused and said it was to late and a CCJ has been served against me!
This came in the post requesting £350 by September! or £50 p/m but the CCj will still go on my credit file until it is paid....i cant even afford £50 p/m plus thats on top of repaying the original debt off! So £80 p/m!!!

I went to my local Citizens advice but they were to busy but gave me a number for Payplan. I am going to write to BCS and request the amount of the debt be lowered on my monthly repayments as i am only working part time at the moment whilst i search for a new full time job.

But i dont know what to do about the CCJ, and it is causing me a lot of stress.....

Please if anyone can help please let me know! Thank you!

Oh and if this helps in anyones answer....i was originally paying this debt of to another debt company when all of a sudden two letters came from to different companies....one being BCS....i said they need to sort out who is wanting the payments and i will gladly oblige....they decided BCS was going to deal with it....so confusion was there from the start!

Hopefully someone more knowledgable will be along soon....
