Mortgage Arrears Fees Repaid Today By Cheque

Out of the blue a cheque has arrived today from Platform Mortgages saying that when I was in arrears with my mortgage they charged me a fee. A review of this fee they have decided did not justify the amount of work they put in. Its £42 for one month arrears including statutory interest.
Check to see if your mortgage company has been prompted by the recent enquiry into fees.
I did sort of miss 1 months payment - It was a hell of a month moneywise. I paid £20 token payment which kept the arrears less than one month so it would not show up on my credit file, but they still charged me..... oh well, at least it didnt scupper my credit file
