Defaults on my credit file

Hi guys
Just some advice needed
I have an account registered on Noddle which is one I'm paying off through my DMP. The original account was a current account, I believe, but now it's with a third party and they are recording defaults against me, and have been since 2009 when I took out my DMP.
I just wondered if this is correct, given a) the original debt isn't a payment agreement abd b) that ive been paying an agreed amount on my DMP for years
Thanks in advance

Hi,
You would of been defaulted when you broke the terms of your agreement with your bank.
This default will be registered on your credit file for six years, you can only be defaulted once for the same debt, the credit reference agency's will report this on a monthly basis, till 6 years have expired.
Makes no odds if you keep to agreed repayments now, the damage was done when you originally defaulted the account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. OK. I think I understand. But why is it only a couple of my debts that show like this?0

A creditor can default you at any time once you have "broken the agreement", but as you are in a DMP, some choose to use "arrangement to pay markers" instead, or will just mark your account as "late payment".
It's up to the individual creditor how they mark your file.
