Hi. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
I am disabled and get income support and disability Living allowance. I can't get any help with my rent payments because i live with my parents.
I can't afford to pay my loan and my car repayment. Neither the bank or the car company will renegotiate.
When I took out the loans i was working and able to pay but now i am not working and i just can't make ends meet. In total i owe around £20,000.
Any ideas?

Hello and welcome HG,
The DFW's will ask for a Statement of Affairs (see Southernscouser's sticky on the debt free wannabe forum), so it would be good if you could get started on that until the experts come along....:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
As said, posting an SOA will allow everyone to get a clearer picture of your situation.

See here for a guide on the sort of info to include: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=107280
It would also be really worth getting some free professional advice on your situation.

Hi there, sorry to hear about your situation.
You have done the right thing though coming on here, I am sure a great number of people will be able to advise you.
I was just wondering however how long into your car agreement are you? I believe if over half has been paid you can just hand it back to them and the debt will be cancelled.
Also, do you receive higher rate mobility in your DLA? If so you could qualify for a car under the motability scheme.
And, at least under Motability all you pay for is the petrol, no tax, insurance, servicing and no MOT costs and no breakdown costs!0
