so took the step of starting our DMP with stepchange all up and running to start 1st Jan. OK!
Lloyds have refused payment but SC say don't worry we ll carry on ! OK!
just starting to see a light!
Then
the reason for all this end of Sept my son finsihed college so our Tax credits and CB were to stop losing us £100 a week so couldn't meet all paymetns
I filled in online changes thing about him stopping college! Then after sitting for a bit thought I think I ll just phone up and confirm its all gone through lady on phone said yes recieved and Id get notification and that yes they would inform tax credits. Sat bit longer thought I think Ill just double check and phone Tax Credit to tell them myself. Did that!
So gets letter saying CB will stop Dec 7th 2015 ok I think seems bit of long time but thats their system.
So checked last week and still got tax credit check this week and another payment.
phoned them up and we have no record of any changes there fore you will have repay all monies since Sept!!
;( but ... but... no sorry on on system we will send you a bill goodbye!
arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggghhhh! all that double checking so this situation didn't arise!!! Give up now!!!
never gonna sort this mess out!

Hi,
I feel your pain, they are utterly useless at the Tax Credit office.
If I ran my business like HMRC run there's, I'd be bust within 6 months.
You can complain about shoddy treatment, but you must follow there complaints procedure, to the letter, otherwise you just get ignored.
They wrote to me two years ago telling me I had an overpayment from 2007/2008, I disputed it, never heard another thing, it's now statute barred.
You couldn't make up half of it I tell you !!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Well Ive just dug out the letter from CB
and I looked at the online form and it states on their form if you tick the no you haven't told Tax credit which when I filled the form out I hadn't we will update your tax credit records for you! it says that in black and white!! but I didn't trust it *and though she says there no record on their computer of me contacting them or child benefit* I KNOW I phoned to double check (as Im that sort of person with government systems) I know the first time he quit college the year before everything stopped after filling that form in but I got the 20 week run on which is what I assumed *probably naively* was happening this time!!
its just making a sh*t time worse when I know I did everything so that THIS didn't happen!!!

I second following their complaints procedure. When you get your phone bill, you can check the dates and times of the calls so you can cite them.Mortgage
