Faulty netbook from Tesco

A friend has bought two HP netbooks from Tesco as Christmas gifts for her young sons. She has discovered that one is faulty. Tesco have said they have no more stock to replace it.

Any ideas what she can do to obtain a replacement, please? One little boy will be left without his gift.
