BR register & having a settled credit report

Hello there,
A few months ago I became a discharged bankrupt, and I'm trying to get my credit file cleaned up.
Sainsbury's have asked for a BR discharge certificate- which I haven't got the money to fork out for at the mo- so thought I could go on the BR register and just print off the info for them.
The problem is- my name is not coming up...I thought it stays on for 6 years??
Also, do I have to provide a BR discharge certificate for them? any cheaper alternatives?
Thanks

Only stays on the register for 3 months after discharge.
You can get official confirmation of discharge from the Official receiver for free by emailing discharge.queries@insolvency.gsi.gov.uk with a request for a letter, giving details of full name, date of birth, current and previous address, national insurance number and court reference number.
Sainsbury's should accept that.
If they don't, make another formal complaint that they are refusing to update your file despite being given sufficient evidence, and that unless they do you will be taking them to the FOS and reporting them to the ICOFree/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I was also thinking that beyond the "3 months following discharge" date, Sainsbury's would be able to check on the Gazette website. But I've just looked at my entry (god I hate it!) and mine isn't showing as discharged, just the date the order was made. Should it show that it's now discharged?
I was just thinking it would be another way for the OP to give proof, but it seems not.
I've taken a copy of my record on the IS register, just in case. 1 yr and 3 months is up later this week.0 -
Discharge is not normally 'gazetted'.
Can be done in some circumstances, but it's not the normal thing.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Oh no, I'd assumed it would. Apparently if you apply within 28 days of discharge they will add a notice to that effect, otherwise to the public it appears as though you're bankrupt for ever. So too late for the OP, and me, I do wish they'd let you know more about what happens and what to do, I would certainly have applied.0 -
Thanks everyone0
