Back in Time for Christmas

Loved the programme and recognised those presents of the 60s. My Mum has done Christmas Day for the family for over 50 years now (must be my turn soon) so she is a dab hand at the traditional dinner but I agree that we replicate the Christmas of our parents to a large degree because I woudl do it pretty much the same at least whilst the older generation were coming for the day. We have never been great TV watchers though and always play games later in the day and since we don't open our presents until after the dinner is all dealt with, that is most of the day gone.
The homemade presents were great but who gives a teenage girl a 'seed drill'?"'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

I adore Rochelle although she does have me rolling my eyes at times when she doesn't know how to do something. Her deadpan delivery had me in stitches when she opened her fur coat present and said "oh, it's the dog" :rotfl:
On that subject, I had no idea fur was so fashionable as late as the eighties, I thought the tide had turned on real fur much earlier than the nineties.
I think she is hilarious too, and she makes the most ordinary things seem funny. I was rolling around when she said the still frozen turkey introduced an element of danger
I hope the family are given more shows. Maybe further back in time?0 -
yes - I can imagine Rochelle in 1900s!!!!!! she would have a cook of course and one maid! as she would be busy organising HER group of suffragettes!0
