OR Interview Question - DLA

Hi everyone,
My dad has now gone bankrupt, the court process was much easier than I thought it would be so I am glad that is over.
He has his full OR telephone interview on Thursday. The initial chat has scared him because the OR was so cold but I appreciate this is their job, they are not there to be your friend. But now he is really frightened.
I am going to be there at his house for moral support but one question I have, my dad’s income is made up of his pension and disability living allowance. Will he need to have proof of how he spends this? A lot of it goes on taxis as he really can’t walk (nobody has a car unfortunately) so he won’t have receipts for it.
I was just wondering if I need to help him prepare a complete breakdown of how his DLA is spent. I want him to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks again, I can't tell you how much easier this forum has made the process.

Hi LS38,
Whilst DLA should be used towards an individual's health expenses it is possible that the OR will ask for more details of what this money is used for. I think it would be wise to prepare the answer to this question, and then if the OR doesn't ask it won't matter, but if he does you have the details to hand. Your dad may feel better if he is more prepared. Good Luck.

If he only receives state pension (not company or occupational) plus DLA then it is a form filling/box ticking exercise as much as anything, as the OR is not going to ask for payments from a debtor who's income is derived solely from state benefits.0

Thank you both. I have the information anyway but didn't want to be caught unawares.
God I will be so glad when all this is over. It's been so stressful, it feels like I have gone bankrupt myself!0
