Should I be paid being on call?

Hello everyone.
I have read up online everywhere I can about this but there does not seem to be a straight answer for my situation so does anyone have any advice?
I work for a large retailer 40 hours a week, different shifts each week.
We have just changed our business slightly and removed our night-shift teams meaning the store gets locked overnight and alarm set etc.
Once or twice a week I now have to be a 'keyholder' which means that if the alarm goes off between the hours of 02:00am and 05:00am I need to attend with another person, check what has caused it, check the premises and reset it etc.
This is therefore a restriction on me as I cannot drink (I wouldn't but principally I cannot) and I have to stay within 30 minutes of the store to get to alarm in time. (I live about 20 minutes away).
Where do I stand? Surely there should be something for having to stay near store etc
The only time I do get paid is if I receive a call-out and this does include travel time (So I get paid 1-1.5 hours pay if I drive there, sort alarm quickly and drive home).
I am on a salary and since this was introduced we have had no consulation and/or contract change.

There are no rules regarding payment for being on call. It's purely up to the individual employer, although there really should have been consultation with the staff involved.0

I think as long as you are getting paid when called out that is appropriate. You could look at this from a slightly different angle - you are obviously a highly trusted employee and can most likely make good progression with this firm.0

Not necessarily. It might simply be a case of being one of the few who live close enough to fulfil the criteria for getting to the premises in the required timescale.0
