How not to go daft at Christmas

I know it always sounds a bit humbug but there's no need to go daft at Christmas - and for me the best way to avoid creating extra Christmas landfill is to look at what you're buying folk and say "hey, I don't see this 'stuff' the rest of the year - why is that?" to which the answer is, nobody sells it the rest of the year because nobody actually wants that 'stuff' - then you can concentrate on stuff that people buy all the time because they actually need/want - magic!
To prove I'm not a Christmas humbug here's a funny video that maybe goes some way to addressing the matter - look up It's Jesus' Birthday by Vrotvig on You Tube
Save money, save the environment, have a laugh. PS - I'm not especially Christian either
