Well Heidi,
I was made BR in Dec 2009. You should of been getting your credit files from Equifax, Experian and Call credit. You need to make sure all the debts you had involved with your BR are dated at very least the same day of your BR...So you should have no debt showing as being settled/satisfied after the 16th December 2009.
You need to ensure your BR has been marked as discharged with them all and that they do not report an address your linked to being that of your Official Receiver...Noddle/Callcredit reported such a link and it has taken me 3 months to sort out.
I am still fighting with a mortgage company to have a settlement date changed to the date of my BR...again over 2 months in the dealings with them.
I had several incorrect reports on my files and took almost 3-9months to get them sorted.
So you credit rating may still be affected by them even when your BR drops off. Your score is meaningless rather a guide to you how others may interpret your credit worthiness.
You also should of been trying to rebuild your credit rating and make yourself more appealing to companies should you need credit in the future.
Maybe you will be lucky and have all the creditors on your side and they have marked them correctly but my experience and that of others here is that that never happens....
Well done for the 6yrs, cant wait for mine to go as well.I love green dots :T I hate red dots :mad:0 -
My BR came off my files at the end of November. A few months after being discharged (Nov 2010) I followed the link below to the letter, all of my creditors responded to the letters and marked my files accordingly, never had a problem with any of them, hopefully you will have the same experience?
