So I think those born between April 1970 and about April 1973 have good reason to feel aggrieved (note I'm not in that age group).
I am, but not getting too worked up about it (unless it's for parody.) Years ago I decided to act as if I wouldn't be getting any SP at all, and if I got any it would be a bonus.
There's a another thread about the actual announcement over at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5681865 for those that haven't seen it yet.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Me too and me too but that's exactly what they plan on, its so far away most people don't consider it any big deal, just another hit they'll take up without much complaint.
In the last 22 years I've gone from an expected SPA of 60 to 68 and a Work pension age of 60 to 67 but its mostly common sense as long as its fairly applied. The worrying thing is how far is it going to go up before we even get there"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

That one I'd be more annoyed about.
What I don't want them doing, and which would get my goat, is messing with the minimum pension age of 55.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

I am much older than you and commend you for that very smart decision! It's exactly what I did a few decades ago, which means I don't now have to worry about my 5.5 years increase and can get by without having to work right up to my SPA in 2019, and without having to join that ghastly WASPI campaign. Better still, when I eventually do get my SP, it will hopefully deal with the worst of the financial impact of Brexit on my personal finances.Paul_Herring wrote: »I am, but not getting too worked up about it (unless it's for parody.) Same here. I also decided to act as if I'd be on the scrapheap at some point in my fifties - must've watched too much about the miners' strike at a formative age.Paul_Herring wrote: »I am, but not getting too worked up about it (unless it's for parody.) Nobody ever gets to retirement and says "I wish I didn't have this much money".0 -

My understanding is that there is a proposal to increase minimum pension age to 57 https://www.pensionsadvisoryservice.org.uk/about-pensions/pension-reform/freedom-and-choice0 -

I'll be 56 then, so it looks like I won't be affected by that one.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Damn, that is disappointing. Thanks for the heads up. I am guessing the age to access pension pot staying at 55 for 2041 to be wildly optimistic. Maybe it would eventually become the same as State Pension Age!? That would be plain awful.

Paul - you might be. I'm sure the original condoc had a little asterisk which footnoted to something about transitional provisions yet to be decided.0
