Debt Doctor

I am amazed at the quality of advice on this site. Some of you are proffesional, CCCS etc, but seems most of you have foundout the hard way - I would welcome your feedback on that !

The advice on this forum is very good, and I hope I and the CCCS guys can help you out

I think many of us did find out the hard way.

But a lot of us also:

    (a) had fantastic advice from here and other similar forums, and are eager to give/repay some of that back.
    (b) Remember only too well how stressful, worrying and dark things can seem when you reach the stage of contemplating BR. It is nice (even to a small degree) to help others who now find themselves in that place.

    That's why I'm still here anyway.:o

  • Sometimes finding out the hard way, and 'living the situation' is the best way (NO offence at the professionals here, who have been an excellent source of info )
I once said it takes a BR to understand a BR and i think thats true. Its not just the advice side its the emotions that accompany Br that can be so hard to take.
I've been through some hellish times in my life, but, so far, BR takes the first prize. Although it would have been twice as bad if i'd not had the help and support of this site.
Thanks for that comment though DD

I'm in exactly the same position as fermi, and could not have put it any better if I tried.
As BLTN says, nobody can appreciate the problems of bankruptcy better than somebody who has experienced bankruptcy first-hand. That does not make us experts in the mechanics of the process, but our experience can, sometimes, help others realise that there is a light at the end of what must seem to be a very long tunnel.
I would like to add that the inclusion of posters from CCCS, CAB and any of the 'genuine' Debt Counselling Charities can only improve not only the quality of advice, but also the credibility of the 'DFW' and 'Bankruptcy and Living with it' forums.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I agree, Ive had that 1st hand experience, thats why I ended the carreer I had been in for 20 years, and took up the work that I do now.

I can well remember how the DCA hounded me, and now in my job I GIVE THEM HELL EVERY DAY !!!!

SUCH JOY YOU CANT IMAGINE !!!

    Best wishes.

I class this site as my therapy through my BR, even told the OR that during my interview. I was advised that the best thing for me to do by CCCS was BR and the support and help I received on here was really great. Those that have been around a long time will remember how bad I was (an emotional wreck) and they really lifted me when I needed it.

The advice and support obtained from this site has been invaluable.90% of those posting care about their fellow man/woman and do their upmost to guide and assist without passing judgement.
First hand experiance means the help is practical, clear and reassuring and thankfuly laced with a little smile here and there. So much apprechiated when things look so dark and self assteam is at an all time low.
I am forever greatful to those who have helped me and if I can help others in even a tiny way to a better life with a helping word/advice I will .We can grow stronger together.
    Thank you all.
