Cashplus Credit Builder

I have just been discharged from Bankruptcy and am seeking to rebuild my credit rating as best as I can for the next few years.
I signed up for a Cashplus Card and thought it costed £5 per month but I called them up and they told me I have a Deluxe account and I will be charged £10 per month.
I explained I do not want to have a Deluxe account and they told me this is not optional, is that correct?
I got accepted for a high interest rate Vanquis credit card as well, so I am questioning now whether or not I really need the Cashcard at all to help with my Credit Rating!

If you've been approved with Vanquis, I don't think you need the cash builder card. You could also try Capital One plus they have a soft checker to find out if you are elegable! Just make sure you pay in full every month to avoid they horrendous APRs! :-)
  • Thanks very much A4445, much appreciated.
I called Cashplus up and explained everything. They agreed that if I got approved for a Vanquis card, then that should suffice to help build my credit up again without the need for a Cashplus card.
They were very helpful and agreed to cancel my Cashplus account without my having to pay a penny. They are even refunding me the £4.95 card setup fee which I wasn't expecting.
Yes my Vanquis card has 39.9% APR so I will most definitely pay in full each month for sure!

Vanquis are normal quite generous with their credit limit increases up to as much as £3500 if you manager your account correctly. By the time your bankruptcy is removed from your credit file you will have a good history with them!
