Idle computer - how to make money?

Is there any way I can make money from idle computer? Electricity is free for me, but my computer is around 3 years old, so it isn't that powerful...

Is there any way to make money out of it by leaving it on while I sleep for example?

Mining cryptocurrency would take years, which is kinda pointless... I'm looking for at least $10 a month, preferably more of course. Otherwise it's just not worth it due to hardware deterioration and the need to replace my computer sooner. Considering I can't really afford that.

Anyway, is there any way I can make some extra money like that?

To be honest, I'd rather leave my computer idle on low-power state than running a program that uses up resources and isn't giving me anything (or enough) in return. My computer wouldn't change much anyway, it's pretty old.

I would bear in mind that your computer probably isn't designed to run 24/7 and you would wear out parts quicker. It would probably overheat or run the fan constantly which can be very loud. Sounds like you still live at home, if electricity is free- so the computer is probably in your room which wouldn't aid your sleep, or others.

You can run Swagbucks apps on your phone, but these days they're not so reliable to run completely without user intervention as they've inserted ads. Most of these kinds of sites, like Clixsense, InstaGC etc want to ensure user interaction i.e. you are watching the ads and they have various methods to ensure this.

I was running malariacontrol on boinc myself and DENIS which are both medical. as for making money... mining is over there was once something called MMC , memory coin which was mining with your cpu, I can imagen if you had free electric and a 64core server 2 years ago youd of be able to rack up a few coins to trade for BTC.
