Morning all

I don't feel human yet today need my cup of tea first.
I fell asleep last night and there were couple of posts I wanted to reply to I had been working my way back.
Will do it later as no good trying to search on phone.
TM we keep a whistle in the bedside drawer Mr TS tells me I should blow it hard if we have intruders. Think he read somewhere years ago and I mean a long time as it's always been there that I can remember, that the high pitch is unexpected and can frighten people off. It's one of those proper metal referee type whistles with a pea in it. Very loud.0 -
Morning Eliters. Does anyone know if Onken's are still glitching. A few are showing 2-for-£2 on A.com but maybe it's all of them like before Christmas. Ta0

Good morning all, rainy one here.
Just trying out my smilies again, all the settings are right (thank you tweets) but just were not working last night!TrulyMadly wrote: »Our neighbours have told us about a series of house burglaries......4 houses broken into at night while the occupiers were asleep:eek:
Mr TM goes away cycling for a week soon and I want to be prepared.
I'm just thinking about a weapon of choice to take to bed with me. :rotfl:
What are your thoughts on a dry powder fire extinguisher? I obviously don't want to blind anyone or ruin my carpets:o But would you consider it to be a useful deterrent?
Or do you think I would struggle with the pin trigger thing in the heat of the moment?
And then there's the issue of disguising it in the bedroom:o
Would a golf club be a more sensible idea?
If we had a fire extinguisher the logical place to keep it overnight would be in the bedroom, to hand. It is not your fault if it is the first thing you grab, and if it gives you peace of mind to have it there then all the better.
That's very odd, nothing changed but smilies working

Not sure if its been mentioned but Aldi have iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, spring onions, beetroot, celery and packs of salad tomatoes all at 29p each until 13th Jan. Great for those planning a healthy 2016, myself included

Thinking about it the whistle thing it may just be he told me that so I feel bit more secure when he goes away.
I mean one look at me and no way could I frighten anyone off. Not sure I would even be able to swing a baseball bat :rotfl: 0 -
I like the Lidl bacon, but do tend to fry it really crisp

Obviously cannot stock up this time, normally grab a few and put them in the freezer :mad:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
All this talk about how to frighten burglars off, this country has the wrong idea.
In a few countries in Africa, if someone breaks into your house then they have to be desperate because they lose all rights when they do so, you can kill them with no repurcussions. Of course that means that a lot of the time they pump gas in before they break in but at least that means the occupants are normally unhurt.
Maybe if that was the case over here people would be less inclined to break in.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
