If you return a CC to Boots instore, do they take back the 500pts (I assume they do)?
What happens if you spend them before you return the items.. does your points balance go into negative?
I don't know - may depend on if you have to give them your card? Also whether it was a Customer Care Goodwill Add or it processed normally? I assume the former was some form of override to stop to 000s getting added automatically, as there is nothing goodwill about it if it is merely applying what should have been applied anyway!

When I have returned online orders to a store they needed the paperwork that came with the order and they then adjusted the points award at the till and it showed on the balance later on.
They always said I would have to wait for the monetary refund to be processed at HQ, though in practice I generally got it the same day as I always use PayPal for online orders.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

Well that will be interesting if they do that then as paperwork shows 52000 points awarded when they weren't

I imagine Goodwill is just a blanket term they use to add points on regardless of the reason.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0
