my op went well and am recovering...the morphine and ketamine helped.who knew that morphine made you itch, and gas gave you aching, awful pains in your neck and shoulder.i did get out the same day from hosp which was a plus.my throat feels like it has nettle rash and have a cough which is agony, as you can imagine, cos coughing is the last thing I want to do cos its so painful.

If I had to paint a picture of a man I think I'd wait
Till he'd fought his selfish battles and had put aside his hate.
I'd not catch him at his labors when his thoughts are all of pelf,
On the long days and the dreary when he's striving for himself.
I'd not take him when he's sneering, when he's scornful or depressed,
But I'd look for him at Christmas when he's shining at his best.
Man is ever in a struggle and he's oft misunderstood;
There are days the worst that's in him is the master of the good,
But at Christmas kindness rules him and he puts himself aside
And his petty hates are vanquished and his heart is opened wide.
Oh, I don't know how to say it, but somehow it seems to me
That at Christmas man is almost what God sent him here to be.

That is wonderful and very true.

My son has been transformed by having kids, he used to only have thoughts for himself at Christmas, but now it is all about his kids :T:T

I popped intyo my local Bookers cash & carry to get some dog food and they had reduced all the turkeys, ducks and geese to half price.
Now bear in mind, the original price is a wholesale price!

I came away with a massive turkey for just over £10 and a duck for £6.

We wont eat it all, but it will keep the dogs going for ages!:):)

Popped in to Aldi around 3pm, browsing the fresh meat/fowl lots reduced by 50%, some nice turkey crowns, good for freezing... as I was looking a manager came over and said all turkeys are now £8 ...I picked up a free range one at £34.99!


rung the mrs "Have we any room in the freezer?" she said we might get one in there... so picked up another....bit of freezer tetris and we have turkey for new year too!

Then popped to T's mobbed up there, got some whoopsied lambs mince and 2 x chicken on 3 for £10 and a load of veg 3 for 2!!
