Unexplained deposit FROM moneysupermarket??

Hi All,
Just a bit confused about how moneysupermarket work.
I have just checked my bank account online and found a deposit of £17.50 from moneysupermarket. I have not had anything to do with them since I tried to swap electricity supplier through them in April. That didn't work because I wasn't an existing customer, I was opening a new account, so the swap deal they had didn't apply, so nothing happened from that.
Normally I wouldn't argue with people giving me money, but may this mean that someone has used my bank details to change their electrisity supplier (or get a loan, or something) and I got the cashback, but later I will be charged with all their bills?
I just tried emailing them using their site, but it didn't work, I'll try ringing them tomorrow.
I would appreciate any advice on this, thanks.

I think you are doing the right thing by contacting them.
On the other hand £17.50 is hardly likely to break the bank if yiou decide to spend it!0 -
Thanks,
I rang them today and they said it normally takes around 4 months to come through, and that Southern Electric hadn't notified them that it wasn't a swap, just a new customer thing so I get to keep it.
How strange. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are not professional advice.0
