Thinking of having english lit/langauge remarked:
Got B (145) in literature (7 marks less of getting A)
Got C (350) in language (10 marks less of getting
Do you think it worth having re-marked since its not only one or two marks off?

It depends - if you want to do it for your own peace of mine. Bear in mind grades can go down as well as up, so see how far above the next boundary down you are (I've just realised how much like an investement trust advert that sounded!) Do you need them to be higher?
If you have it remarked it will be remarked by a different examiner. The whole centre will usually be remarked too (so everyone who took it with you may be remarked as well). My school queried three history grades when I sat mine, and the whole group was remarked - some students went up and others went down. hth cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Am not 100% about GCSE marking, but at degree, if your mark is within a certain boundary, it will have been double marked anyway.
To be honest I think that, for the money it costs, you would be getting your hopes out for something that is not likely to change, or even worse, could end up with you getting a lower grade.Gone ... or have I?0 -
My sons school only recomended getting papers remarked that were 2 or 3 marks at the most away from the next grade. The reason being there are normally more than one paper for each subject to remark and the chances of gaining enough marks on all papers is slim and there is also the chance of loosing a few marks too.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

Meant to hit quote, sorry!
A lot of papers will be double marked anyway prior to the grades being given out but it is more likely to be to be random selections of whole centres rather than indivual candidates. I would definately check how far above the next grade down you are before you make any decisions.:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
The charges are frightening.
My son is 5 points off the grade above in his A2 paper. If he wants it remarked its £40+ a paper and there are 5 papers. Thats £200!!!!
If he would like another one remarked too for 8 points I think it is, again 5 papers.
I know he's curious but guess what I've said.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Then next boundary down for literature is 133 (need to drop 12 to remain b or need to get 7 for A)
and for langauge is 312 (need to drop 48 to remain c or need to get 10 for
