Only just seen this thread, have you thought about looking at an electric car such as Nissan Leaf? If you have the ability to charge it at home I'd have thought it would be an ideal vehicle for your OH
If I suggested an electric car to my OH he would probably never talk to me again haha (actually with that in mind I may suggest it to him)0 -
Just to be clear: the OP's household is entitled to CB because neither parent earns £50k+.
A household with a full £60k pa income but just one earner, bringing home a net £3,500 a month (less than the OP), would lose 100% of their CB entitlement.
I personally don't think that this is quite fair, not least because the sole-earner household would be contributing more tax, but that's not the OP's fault, it's just the way the government have decided to do things.
OP - have you both got pensions sorted?
Also, you should be able to claim 15 free hours of childcare for your DS from September next year, or possibly more if they have changed the rules by then?0
