Hi im abit of a pickle, my credit rating is really really bad and im at a point in my life now where im thinking of trying to buy a house, my problem is that i have alot of debts that i cant locate.
Just to explain abit when i was 17/18 my our family moved around a fair bit and i cannot remember half of the addresses where we lived and some of them were only for a few months a time, now on top of that my mum would use my name back then to get things like sky/virgin and god knows what else...yeah great mother....now im assuming i would have to have signed for these things but i really cannot remember doing so.
Here lies the problem i have no idea what debts i actually owe and sites like credit expert only show me what i already know...is there anyway i can find out when debts are against my name and how to clear them?
Thanks alot.

Wow, that's an amazing story. Good luck to you.
I'm probably wrong here, but surely mortgage lenders will only be able to see the same stuff as you will on your files?0 -

If it doesn't show on any of the credit reference agency's files, then the debts will be older than six years.
How old would the accounts be now roughly ?
If over six years, and no payment or written acknowledgement has been made in that time, chances are they will be statute barred, unless any legal action has been taken.
