Hi,

I'm considering buying a Sensationail kit from Boots but noticed that Sensationail are selling the lamp itself for £20. Then I could buy the other bits and a polish of my choice separately.

Alternatively, can anyone recommend an led lamp that has a wattage higher than 9w that they can recommend?

Thanks.

I have the Sensationail kit and have been pretty happy with it. It comes off easily too compared with UV gels, leaving my nails undamaged. I have seen the Ciat! lamp on sale for £30 - the offer's here on MSE. Been thinking about that one as you can use their gel polish on top on
of non-gels which would save money.

Do you have to use their own brand of nail polish with this?

can you use it to set ordinary nail varnish quicker?

i've used the sensationail lamp with various gel polish & it's worked ok on all, gelish, IBD, ink.

it doesn't work on normal polish, it has to be led or uv gel polish as it cures it, not actually drying it.

think this 'old' lamp is on offer as there's a new one now, it has handy features light auto on/off, but for £20 the original is a really good lamp & i've just ordered one for when mine gives up. it's still working, but has been used regularly for 2 years so it will go at some point!

I bought the starter kit. It is £41.25 instore or £38.50 online.

Instore they also have a "buy 1 get second half price" on the colours, reducing from £15 each to £22.50 for 2.

I've just had a look and the one on offer is the 3060 model but all the others in the deluxe kits are the same. Which is the newer model? Thanks
  • I have used the Sensationail top coat over non-gel nail polish and although it does work and look good, it does chip quicker than a gel polish. I think the Sensationail colours are a tad on the pricey side.

not on their own site at the moment but it's on at Boots as a special for £38.50, from their facebook page, these are the differences from the original "It cures clear in 15 seconds and colour in 30 seconds.
USB connection as well as plug.
Auto sensor so as soon as your fingers enter it switches on. No bleep just a double flash at 15 seconds.
    Removable Base plate for pedicures.".

well worth buying the starter kits of these when on offer, small sizes of all you need & a very good lamp.

i've never got around to trying a 'gelly sandwich', too much gel polish to get through now!

i've had IBD off this seller before which was genuine & a good price, 14ml size, £8.99-10.99 but none in stock at the moment.

my favourite is harmony gelish, easy application, great range of colours & lasts up to 21 days on me. i don't tend to buy it off ebay as there are so many copies & fakes on there, have used this online shop before & all ok. around £11.99 for 15ml, i think it's imported from the USA as they aren't an authorised seller, but it is genuine.

I bought this today. Haven't tried it but looking at it the lamp is small. You couldn't fit in your thumbs with your fingers, in fact they suggest doing your 2 thumbs, then the fingers on each hand. Was also surprised that the polishes are small.

The lamp is micro port to USB, so you are gaining (yet another) USB charger plug, but I would be careful to use only the supplied one. You want the correct wattage or you will cook your nails!
