Bank of Canada would consider setting interest rate below zero

Canada is struggling to emerge froma recession which began earlier this year, and the outlook for it's economy is pretty negative at the moment.

Funds (CAD) has already fallen in value relative to USD over the course of the year, so it will continue if the two neighbours start to follow dramatically different monetary courses.

Of all the exchange rates, it is the one the Federal Reserve would take the most interest in.

I suspect that the Fed starting to raise rates would sort a lot of problems in the rest of the OECD. Investors are going to prefer USD debt to any other as things stand.

We'll see what happens in a few days. I hope and expect that the Fed will raise rates.

Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

I'm going to be gutted if they don't.
