CSA; how to find out if someone is working?

Hi all
Ex was paying child support regularly (once forced to by CSA - taken from his wages) for the last couple of years.
Now the CSA have written to say they couldn't take the latest payment from him payslip as he has left his job.
He didn't tell them he was leaving, and hasn't replied to their correspondence to ask where he is now working. I'm not sure if he is avoiding them, or is just too stupid to know that he has to tell them.
Now I know he won't be out of work; he has never left a job without having another to walk into and also has a mortgage to pay.
The CSA have said they cannot find out if he is working or claiming benefits or basically help in any useful way.
Can anyone suggest a way I can find out if/where he is working, short of stalking him????
Thanks in advance

Probably little in short of stalking, he will be paying tax somewhere, so you may have to close the case and open a CMS case, then they can stalk him on your behalf. On the counter though, some PWC's forget to inform when the QC no longer is due CS contribution via CSA.0

Sorry, plain english please?
Counter-example: The parent with custody sometimes forgets (or "forgets") to inform the Child Support Agency that it's time for the non-resident parent to stop paying child support.0 -
Ah well that's a lovely insult that has no relevance to my original post. Thanks so much! I feel so welcomed.Any help is always gratefully received.0

To answer the OP's original question the usual way for the CSA to obtain this info is via HMRC tax data, of course if the NRP is working off the cards it's almost impossible for them to do. As they're part of the DWP of course they have access to his benefit records though I can't speak for CMS0
