I'm at the end of my tether ...

Options
I've turned to MSE because I really don't know where to turn.
Excuse me for the long winded rant but here is our Problem.

My husband is a Taxi Driver and has been for 10 years+
He was recently involved in a bad accident where his Vehicle was written off! ... as if that wasn't bad enough so close to Christmas, the insurence company were swift to get things sorted my Hubby to get back to work.
He located a new vehicle, a very nice car that is LPG/Petrol fuelled, he took the Vehicle to be MOT'ed at the compulsory Council Testing station, where the vehicle was fully tested against our Local Boroughs stringent tests, where a certificate of compliance was issued for hubby to present to the Council to obtain Licence.
Hubby went straight to Council to obtain licence where he was told " we aren't plating LPG vehicles any more ... and EVERYONE was sent a copy of this legislation in Sept 14 "
Hubby pointed out that not only had HE never received any such notice, but it's very obvious that their OWN MOT centre wasn't aware of this either as they passed the vehicle fit for purpose!
My husband rang and asked the guy at the MOT centre WHY in fact had he issued a pass certificate on a vehicle that APPARENTLY wasn't fit under the Council's " Legislation " and the guy actually admitted even HE didn't know LPG vehicles were not allowed as taxi's.
I'm at an absolute loss as to why something that is PROVEN to be better Economy & Environment wise isn't allowed!
We have rang neighbouring Boroughs who are also dumbfounded as to what is going on!
This isn't the first problem my husband has encountered with the council and at the moment it feels very much like a personal vendetta.
So we are here, with a lovely clean, safe, reliable car with literally weeks to go til Christmas and my husband cannot work! ... we ris losing our house and words cannot describe how Stressed and absolutely devestated we are!
We have tried local councillors who really aren't helpful .. but time really is running out ...
when my husband asked for a full explanation of WHY LPG wasn't allowed they just kept replying with " because it's legislation " .. over and over again. They said that it will be up for review in January but basically told him ... tough!

By January we will be homeless ... not that they care.
It disgusts me that in a day and age where there's such high Unemployment and people that DON'T wish to work to provide for their families, that my husband is being forced out of employment because of a " Legislation " that no one at the council can even explain why?

He needs to sell the car and buy one that fits in the realms of the Legislation in place or suffer not working at all, Seems a no brainer to me.

I have to agree with the above. I hope you overcome this situation swiftly.
