Hi MSE'rs(lol)
My son would like a Playstation 4 for his birthday, He has been a star the whole year and has been given so many certificates and rewards at school.
I am so proud of him to say the least, I would like to get this for him as a lifelong treat, lol
Please help me save money and advise on the best way I can get a PS4 whether it is discount codes etc etc
Thank you all so much

You got any Tesco clubcard points, might be able to use them against a console if you do.
Another question is budget.0 -
check out http://console-deals.com/ and also like others have said you can get club card boost at tesco so double points!!0

I'd avoid BrightHouse, one friend of a friend is saying by the time he pays it off he'll be paying £1200 for a PS4 with one game, two controllers & two headsets.....
Think your best bet sailed with Black Friday, outside that I think you're probably looking at between £200-250 for the cheapest machines out of reputable retailers.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -

seems a decent enough bundle, starwars, last of us fallout 4 will keep him occupied for a while!.0 -
check out hotukdeals for well deals although most recently have been from amazon germany & france which isnt exactly a UK deal"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

Amazon are doing reconditioned ones with 12mth warranty for £199.99 last time I looked, although reviews were a little mixed (most fine, some DoA it seems). I've just ordered one for my hubby from Simply Games for £230. No games with it - hubby is very picky and I couldn't find a bundle with the specific games he wants which I felt was good value compared to separate prices - but it's brand new, was delivered next day and comes with the warranty one would expect on a new product. I also got a couple of quid cash back clicking through from Top Cashback.
I found The one I bought on the console deals website glenandemm mentioned so it's definitely worth a look!0 -
Agree with looking at Tesco if you have points to spend. Their prices aren't too dissimilar from most high street retailers, so you might find cheaper online, but they may cheaper with the boost..
If you get a bundle with free games, check the PEGI ratings - Fallout 4 is an 18 rating - probably right. Star Wars is a popular game - 15 rating, although I play it with my grandson who is 13 and not concerned. Last of Us is also an 18, but I've not played it.0 -
Do you have a budget price in mind? Do you know what games he may like to play?0

Thank you all, i will be buying it in a few days, but thinking of waiting until boxing day.
my son likes all of the lego games/dinosaurs etc.
He is 8 and never had a game console before, we usually spend our time in martial arts, swimming or football. excellent boy deserves this treat0 -

I think you've kidnapped my son. Purple belt karate, 600m swimming badge, plays football, Lego, Jurassic park and he's done us proud this year too. We snapped up a PS4 for him for Christmas from Amazon, they had the best deal at the time.
Personally I'd wait till the new Year sales kick in, keep an eye out for the Amazon lightening deals.
