How long for a mortgage offer letter after offer issued?

My broker told me my mortgage offer was issued last Monday, 30th of Nov, but still no offer in the post. I have had letters about my direct debit and from their solicitors but no offer letter. I expect these things take awhile to print, but should I expect to wait over a week?

  • As ACG intimates - some lenders take the decision press the button and a copy is available online for your broker to download (and if he/she isn't quick the first class post version arrives and they lose the kudos of breaking the news) and with some they pass the info to the broker and then send the case to 'production' who in 4 working days or so will get round to putting it in a second class envelope !

Nothing much the brokers can do about this.

The lender is Virgin, I always worry about important stuff getting lost in the post. Shame it can't come to me electronically.

We don't do much with Virgin - and frankly I don't administer many applications these days (so I stand to be corrected) but I believe that the offer can be downloaded by your broker once issued.

For various reasons we had 3 offers in the post (first property, second property and then they made a mistake and had to re-issue) and in general its 5 working days for everyone to get their copies.

Ours tend to arrive in 3 days. Solicitor more like 5 days.

    HTH.

Virgin offers are available to your broker within 2 hours of being approved.

Broker would get a copy by email too.
