making heat packs to sell?

Hi all
I am looking into starting to sell microwaveable heatpacks of various shapes and sizes to sell as I've made a few for myself and several people have asked if they can buy one or two.
I was wondering if anyone has done this or if anyone knows if there are any legal hoops I need to jump through to sell them?
Thanks in advance

You will need insurance incase someone gets hurt or killed using the product. The product will have to be to, and tested for, the revevant British Standards Kitemark standards. You will need to be registed as self employed.
Where are you going to make the produts, and is the building allowed to be used for such use.0 -
Thanks for that. I will be making them in my own home so no problem there.0

Have you applied for planing permission with the local council for 'change of use' to allow the relevant business use? If you do not own your house do the mortgage, or place you rent from, allow business use. Also check what extra buldings/contents insurance you will need as if you change the use of the property you may find your current insurance invalid. It becomes comlicated when you start to manufacture/make products at home compared to someone who just works from home.0
