I'm 63 in January. I've tried a couple of times to get a forcast and I get a message to say I can't get it till April 16.

Who are you contacting? Did you follow the link for contacting the Future Pension Centre that xylophone gave?

    Happy New year to all.
This is just for closure on this thread. So first of all, I'd like to thank everyone that contributed to it, it's been a great help.
I cancelled my appointment with the adviser mentioned earlier and looked around a little more. Made another appointment with another company and we had a meeting during the holiday. It seems my position is not as bad as I'd feared, indeed, it looks very promising. I'll be updated soon on the advisors recommendations, and it's comforting to know that a proper plan is now emerging.
This advisor is a little cheaper than the other but as with accountants, if they're any good, they'll pay for themselves.
    Thanks again

just as an example, I would charge £495-£695 for the advice report and 4.5% on the implementation if recommended (and this includes the initial fee) on £50k.

However, I don't quite understand why it looks bad to charge nothing for the initial advice. See it as a marketing technique to encourage clients to join. If he/she finds a reason to transfer, it has to be justified, so nothing bad should happen!
