this is for a friend of mine ... can any help please ....
I have been trawling the internet for a draft letter to send my creditors stating that I can no longer pay my monthly instalments ..can anyone direct me in the right direction on what you write in my first letter to these people and with an offer of £1 per month as I am unemployed 8 months pregnant with a 13 month old son, I have a partner who is currently unemployed, although the debts incurred are all in my name, .. We simply just cannot afford the repayments even though my partner is out every day looking for work, and has to date been unlucky in finding a job which will even go half way in paying our living expenses and my debts .. its all just too much and I dont know what to write in a letter.
thanks in advance

There is a factsheet on what do if you can only make token payments or no payments here:

Plus this letter can be slightly modified to your needs.

Plus lots of other people here have templates.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I'm sure someone else will be along shortly with good advice, but I'm sure there is something on this site about dealing with problem debts that gives a template letter to send your creditors. You could also try national debtline, I'm sure I've seen people recommending them for template letters. You might actually be better off getting advice from some one like CCCS, or one of the other free debt management charities.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

Ring a Debt Management company or CAB and they will give you the best advice, As other people have said you need to speak really to the CAB as they will give you free advice, many other places will not.0
