I changed all my policies to say second class post and 1 day handling time even though I send first class and same day till 3pm. I probably lost some sales through this but I would rather have pleasantly surprised buyers than annoyed ones.
I sell in a niche enough category that I am not being undercut and it has reduced a lot of stress. Still have stupid buyers to contend with though!0 -

I am still trying to hang onto my TRS discount and already have next day dispatch and 2nd class. If it gets any worse I might give up TRS until Christmas and just go for a 3 day dispatch.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I don't get why eBay don't give more realistic delivery times like Amazon. Do they not realise that the biggest thing that annoys buyers is their unrealistic estimates?
I sell a lot on Etsy and have no problems like on eBay. Strangely etsy packages rarely go missing either...0 -
I've now had my first INR case, no previous correspondence from buyer just a case 'why haven't you sent my xxxx, send it immediately'.
Refunded and blocked....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Another one here today. "Have you posted my item yet ?" Yes, it was posted on 28th November to your UK address. At least they didn't go straight to an INR case, but I can see another orange dot coming

Yep I have had one too today asking where their item is, it was posted out last Wednesday...
It was my eldests birthday on Monday, and my parents posted his a card on Friday first class he received it today!! And that was send from only 20 miles away!!
I have now put my shop on holidays until Christmas eve .. Until I work out what I am going g to do, as the last few months have been really pants with people saying they haven't received their items!! I got a royal mail business account , so can't claim for lost parcels..Work to live= not live to work0 -
I too have a Royal Mail business account, but have heard from other Royal Mail account users who are having problems. I really don't want to close my listings this early, but think I might have to in order to protect my account.
Really bad news that EBay have brought in the new late delivery metric at the point that Royal Mail seems to have failed completely

I was so stressed on Tuesday that I actually closed my shop overnight and forgot it, just to get a bit of peace. All back on now and sales are steady.
Im holding steady on 3 'lates' but have noticed another issue. I refunded someone who asked to cancel their purchase , did it exactly as I normally would using the option 'buyer requested cancellation' and it's given me a defect .....
I received two parcels yesteay from ebay, both late according to ebay but as far as I am concerned they arrived on time. If I leave positive feedback and just don't say yes or no to the late question will that be Ok for the seller or do I actually have to say yes it arrived on time?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. With the new time metric, the percentage/number is made only of those that answer the question. This is why it is so unfair.
If 100 people buy from you and 1 leaves a late, normally that would be 1%. But, if only 2 people have answered the question and 1 of those is a late, you are at 50%.
Leaving the question blank isn't helping other sellers to dilute their lates.
Either you can ignore the question, answer it truthfully or mark it as yes to help the seller.0 -

Thank you. I will mark them as arrived on time as these arrived when I expected it, and not when ebay decided they could be hand flown to me by drone.
I have incidentally phoned ebay about my newest defect and am going to start a new thread as their response was worrying. Apparently the new metrics are showing teething problems and are throwing up defects when there should not be one.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
