Savings account?

I found with the Co-op that they would allow an ISA straight away, but the savings account was rejected (no I couldn't work out the logic either!).0

S*d them I'm afraid! I have now joined a Credit Union and very pleased I am too. In fact, I don't know why I didn't think of it before I tried with Co-op. The uses that Credit Unions will put my money to are far better than the Co-op will.
Incidentally, to join the Co-op, I just filled out their online form and submitted it that way. And was rejected that way too!! As a former First Direct customer, I really can't be doing with going into branches and being made to feel humiliated! It's miles to the nearest town and what with parking, Christmas songs, silly hats - ergh, I'm staying away!
Have just made my first deposit of £400, very happy!

:j I am so pleased you went with a CU - I am a complete convert and have banged on about them on this forum in the past to the point of being a bore. Once you have been a regular saver with them - they will also offer you the option (in most cases) of small loans if you ever need one.S*d them I'm afraid! I'm so pleased too, the one I've gone for offers everything I need. I looked into them a while ago in readiness for when I actually had some money but when it came to it, completely forgot! So thank you Co-op for turning me down. Looking at some of the projects it supports, I'm completely in favour and my share of my aunty's house, once sold, will be winging their way.0 -
After having been turned down for a Co-op savings account as mentioned previously, I have now had one of those automated notifications from Equifax to say that my Credit report has changed.
Is it likely that the Co-op search has adversely affected my credit rating? I'm not a subscribed member but will be able to check the 2 free services in about a week's time so not going to pay unless I really need to.,
Surely applying for a savings account would be a good mark not a negative one? Surely? Does anyone know please?
Thanks
