    Hiya. SE have partnered up with Tesla to supply battery storage in the UK. As I understand it, a battery control box can be added to SE inverters manufactured after Dec 2013.

    I think it's a DC to DC system, where generation gets passed from the panels to the batts (via the inverter).

    Remember these systems are expensive, and relatively new. Prices are expected to drop with volume, and hopefully momentum is now building up in some places (Hawaii, Australia etc) where the economics are better. Germany has just extended its subsidy program for storage, for another 3 years.

    Some analysts have suggested price drops of 50% over the next 5 years or so, if volumes rise as predicted.

    Also remember that for those on the earliest FiT rates, the system losses (around 8%) will show up as lower gen on the TGM as all of this takes place before it. Not so much of a concern for those on the later, and lower rates.

    Certainly one to watch, and please post any links, info, and personal thoughts you gain, as I'm very interested in 'all this stuff'.

    I have been looking at investing in this area with some friends for some time, but it is far from a straightforward investment. This might be of interest;

    Although Cardew's post shows the correct url, when MSE use it to create a clickable link they drop the final '-' hence causing the link to fail.

    No problem if you copy whole line and paste it into a url window.
