On the individual competition threads, bottom right you'll see a cross and a tick symbol.

If you've entered click on the tick- and it's good to thank the poster.
If you're not interested then use the cross.

When you look at the competition board the tick or cross will show up that you've done them.

Personally for the advents I thank each days poster in the advent competition I'm following and tick them- helps show up any advents I've missed.

But you'll find what works for you, and then next year's advent won't be as crazy- well it will, but you'll be better prepared.

As Zanzib says, use the red crosses and green ticks on here. FB and TW it is quite easy to see if you have entered or not. Just enjoy it Enter and forget. You will get quicker but like learning anything new it does take time so don't panic
