Vodafone Old Default

Hi all this is my first post and I am after some help,

A few years back about 5 I was in a bad relationship had to leave and as a result a few things mounted up, I had a old Vodafone account with defaulted I paid this off and the account was closed this was in 2011, now moving forward 4 years I am happily married with a good paid job and all my affairs are all in order, I checked my credit report this morning for the first time in years ( I know my own fault for not checking ) but I noticed that Vodafone have been defaulting me every month for the past 4 years for a 0 balance and this is having a negative affect on my credit report, does anyone know how I can go about getting this removed as this is really unfair, I know a defaults lasts 6 years, but they are defaulting me every month for nothing so in reality it will never drop off:mad:

Does it say anywhere that the account is satisfied? It should if you paid off the account.

A D or 8 every month in the status history are not new defaults. They do not change when the account drops off. The whole account, including the default and subsequent history markers all come off 6 years from the initial default date.

So, if it was defaulted 5 years ago, then the default will be due to drop off your file sometime next year.

As Fermi says, it stays on your credit file for 6 years, then falls off, as though it were never there, whether you have paid the account, or not, will not alter the default status itself, but should be marked as "satisfied".
