Using whey

Had my first serious attempt at making cheese the other day - it wasn't bad actually.
Lots of whey left over and I've read various uses for it and thought I might use it as the liquid in a pizza base.
Errrrm....and then rather forgot about it in the fridge for a few days. Cant see anything "growing on it" or the like - so I guess its still okay.
How long does whey keep in the fridge?

No idea how long it officially keeps, having had a quick google there doesn't seem to be a consensus with some people saying use it quickly, others saying it'll keep for a few weeks and others still saying it freezes well. I probably wouldn't keep it more than a few days and really, I think I'd try to use it as soon as possible. Apparently pigs love it (hence why areas famous for cheese tend to also be known for pork pies) so if you're planning on making cheese in a big way you might want to go all 'Good Life' and get a pig for the back garden0
