Plodding along slowly with clearing my debt

It's all (bar the car) on 0% so no mad rush to get it paid off but I just want it gone.I'm just hating the idea of owing money now. The car final payment is in April so that frees up another 180 a month to put towards the debt. I want to start saving but there's no way I can do that at the moment. I'm in hospital at the moment so that's given me lots of time to go over things. I have done a fresh start on ynab as despite my best efforts I couldn't make things balance. I'm panicking a bit about my wages this month as I've been off work 4 days now and it looks like I will be off quite a bit longer, possibly even all month. The company don't pay sick pay and ssp is half what I get a week so time to cut down.
I can't reduce anything except internet. Phones for me and my older daughters are on contract(stupid me). Food is already low at around 400 a month for 6 of us. I do need to stop mindlessly spending on crap like coffee in town though.
My snowball says it will take 45 months to pay off. I definitely need to shorten that!

Sorry to hear you are in hospital... get well soon
dont stress as health and speedy recovery is more important - good luck0 -
For me health is more important, so why don't you contact your debts and explain your on ssp for a period and ask for reduced payments...
Most companies will be happier to receive a reduced payment over no payment.
I know you want to clear the debt ASAP but at what cost?
I would say get well soon and re-examine the whole situation, doing it whilst stressed and ill does not help.

If you are comfortably making minimum payments then I wouldn't panic, it sounds like you are on top of things and are planning.
Your health is no.1 priority, so don't look to cut back on things like food. Instead look to skip things you know you don't need, like a coffee in town or that extra Christmas gift. Tell your family that as your wages are likely to take a hit that you need to be extra careful over the festive period, I am sure they will understand and be more concerned another your health.
Having said not to cut back on food, as I don't think that spend is too much for a family, perhaps any time spent off work could be used to scavage for cheapest Xmas deals to ensure it is as cheap as possible.0 -
