Hi guys, I'm looking for a good Galileo Thermometer, I'm really struggling though as there is a lot of tat out there and you never know whether the more expensive ones are actually better or just the cheap ones at a higher price.
The last time I bought one was from A1gifts.co.uk, they used to have loads, but seem to have hardly any now.
This was the one I bought
http://www.a1gifts.co.uk/gifts/galileo-traditional.aspx
And it's lovely, has a nice sticker on it saying "German Made" which made it feel like a really quality gift.
I'm looking for one that is slightly smaller (which they do sell) but ideally with silver tags.
Anyone got any ideas? I'm basically looking for an ornament rather than a novelty gift and nowhere selling quality products seems to have them.
Thanks

Can you give any personal experience of any of those products?
Without being rude, I can use Amazon and all the other shopping sites to find what I'm looking for by description alone. But as I said I'm looking for information on quality.
A £10 item with a lot of positive reviews would probably not get as many good reviews if it was £30. Which is why I'm on here asking for personal experiences of such products.
I could pick one up at B&M's for a fiver. But I'm looking for something that looks and feels good quality and would make a nice gift and isn't just cheap tat.0 -

To be honest there is not a lot to question about quality in a glass tube with coloured baubles inside. I have seen loads of them and they have all looked and felt the same, just different sizes.
If you are looking for information on quality then you are better off relying on reviews although I know what you mean about a £10 item getting better reviews than a £30 item.
IMHO all Gallileo thermometers look cheap, but thats just my opinion.:oI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
