what to give carol singers

Options
Hi,

We live on a main road in a village and usually gets lots and lots of carol singers. Traditionally we've given money but always struggle with the amount of singers and knowing how much to give if they come in pairs or in larger groups.

What do you give?
What else could we give besides money?
I love a bargain. Now mortgage and debt free. hurray!!:smileyhea

I'm afraid i don't know. Not had any carol singers around here for at least 20 years.

  • Ignore the door when they knock. Or pour water on them from an upstairs window.

  • haha, no...we like them coming, but it cost us a small fortune last year. Just looking to cut costs a bit.

What do you think about having a load of sweets ready, instead of money?

  • You could make some mince pies? I've never had carol singers come to the door though and never knew they still did!

  • I`d say mince pies, or get a tub of roses and offer them a couple :)

    They don't bl00dy sing.
They wait until you open the door then say .......... Away in a manger, then hold their hands out and go away as soon as they're givrn anything.
At least when we were kids we'd sing a couple of Carols all the way through.

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time
  • mostly teenagers, but they come in pairs, threes and bigger groups. I always struggle with knowing which one do you give the money to and how much. I usually give £1 but like I said it cost us a small fortune last year.

I'm hedging towards a tin of chocs unless any better ideas come up.:xmassmile
