Start date 07/12 for new Job. What do I tell Universal Credit?

I have a regular sign on meeting today at 14:00 that I'll be attending.
I want to know the best way to inform UC about the new job that ensures I'm paid as much UC as possible and get any potential benefits, like first week of travel my adviser has mentioned. So thusly I don't want to tell them 'too early' or 'too late'.
Should I just tell my advisor today when I go to see her? Should I not inform her, and instead ring the UC number to tell them? Should I just phone them and not even bother attending today? Any advice would be appreciated.

In haste - for heaven's sake, go to the meeting! Leave now! More will follow....Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

I hope you won't see this until you get back from your meeting.
You are asking for a sanction, in my view, if you don't go to a planned meeting. Who knows (and I sincerely hope it won't happen) your new job might just fall through. You want to come across to JCP as a candidate who is really really keen to get back to work (which I'm sure you are) and is really thoughtful about it, so that you want to cover all bases. Therefore my advice would be to go to the meeting and update the adviser fully, and co-operate with their recommendations.
You may not read as many posts on this board as I do, but every so often a job does fall through before the successful candidate starts work. It's pretty rare, but it does underline the importance of keeping JCP on side as much as you can! I would qualify this advice, however, by saying I haven't used JCP for a long time, so it's possible that more recent users may have better advice. Too late to give the OP useful advice now, but they should have attended the appointment with the UC work coach and told them they are starting a job on Monday. Delaying notification would only lead to potential overpayment and claw back.0

The OP said they were attending.
Actually, with Universal Credit, JCP advisors advise claimants to ring the national UC telephone number once you start work.
JCP staff do not have access to part of the UC system in any event. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0
