Mortgage after bankruptcy

Hi. I'm hoping someone can give some advice. I was declared back in 2011 under terrible circumstances. I lived in a flat who's management firm had let the building (and subsequently the value of my property) degrade. My husband had cancer and I had one baby and a child on the way, living in a damp flat I could neither sell, nor rent for the mortgage value. I therefore declared. I was discharged 9 months later due to the circumstances.

We've been living in rented accommodation ever since, and our situation has slowly improved. Now both children are older are my husband is in remission, I have decided to go contracting. As a project manager, I can earn £400 per day and have secured a contract starting Feb.

This is great news for us, but I wonder where I might be able to get some good and solid advice on how I best save the money I make for a mortgage and our future.

I'm also concerned that I'll not be able to secure us a home. When I declared (as the mortgage owner), some of the joint debt transferred to my husbands name only.

Obviously a complex case (as most bankruptcies are) but I wonder if there is any face to face advice out there...that I will be able to trust!
