Mincemeat, it was at a knockdown price last year and I brought about a dozen jars!!! happily working out way through it0
-
When they're on sale: Loo roll, kitchen roll, cat food, toiletries, laundry items, part bake rolls/ciabatta, coffee pods0
-
I don't stockpile, I like tidy cupboards
I buy a spare of everything and that's it. Loo roll, as soon as the last three go on the stand, a new large bag is bought. Toothpaste, shampoo, soap etc always bought on the 2 for offers
However mum stock piles
20 tins of soup
27 tins of tuna
18 tins of salmon
And baked beans enough to fill a swimming pool
The only time I kind of stock pile is if I go to the chicken factory and get a good deal ( like whole chickens at 25p), then I fill the freezer0 -
Evening All
Wow Suki - thats some stockplie your Mum's got going on!!!
I used to e terrible and am slowly working through it - among stuff that I had stockpiled but rarely used that is still left 1/2 bag green lentils (had got 3 bags at start of the declutter!) 1/2 pack of rice noodles (dont really like them) 1/2 pack of dried blueberries (too sweet!) and a random large tin of pineapple which I dont eat anymore!! What am I gonna make with that????
Now I rarely buy anything full price - I go Ysing at Morr!sons when I am near them for work one evening per week. But loo roll, tea bags, jam, veggies, meat - always bought when on offer!! (nearer the real price the supermarket pay for stuff)! :j
Minimising onwards! :rotfl:

That's some kinky preparedness you've got going there.0 -
We only have a tiny bungalow, so not a lot of space for stockpiling. I tend to work on the principle of "one in use, one spare" for most things, and when the spare gets started, it's time to buy another one. That way, also, things get used in rotation, and you don't find, having decided to use up your stash, that the one at the back is 10 years out of date!If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

I stockpile and will be grateful this month. Overdraft, unexpected bills and medical bills and ...... The list goes on.
Tuna must be over 20 tins,
Beans mixed varieties 16 tins
Tomato chopped 8 tins
Pur!e tomato industrial size 1
Pumpkin 2 tins
Sardines 8 tins
Riscotto half bag
Mince meat for Christmas jars 5
Bread mixes 8
Flours easily 5 kg
Cooking oil extra litre unopened
Buckwheat 1 kg
Coffee 3 jars
Brown rice, pasta and quinoa
Tea bags loads and that just the dry goods.
I come from a long line of stockpilers but at least I can eat out of Cupboards and the freezer.
I need to avoid buying anything new as I can't afford to enter the overdraft again and I want to actively reduce the stock pile.
I think stockpiling does have roots in times of lack of income or shortage of food before, it's like a comfort planet that from time to time needs to be purged.0 -
Toilet rolls! My ds2 helped me to move a freezer and emptied the small space so he could slot it in.
When he cleared it out he called me to see the space.... and he asked me if I had a 'bottom problem' :rotfl::rotfl: he had removed 10 x 18 packs of t rolls.I now keep 1 pack at a time :T as I live on my own.
This has become another family joke, along with , mum the skip diver, the mum who got stuck climbing the apple tree, at 63.... you get the idea.:D

Morning Mardatha
I was lucky, there were builders 2 gardens away who came over the walls and got me down. I'll never live it down with the neighbours lol
