will i ever become debt-free???

so the plan was to be totally debt-free by Jan 1st 2016. life, as always, has not gone quite to plan.
It's not too bad though, I've paid off a fair chunk and as the 0% deal on my cc is running out, I have consolidated all my cc debts into a the card with 0% balance transfer so I'm still not paying any interest. The plan was to work hard at paying it off asap in 2016 BUT...... (isn't there always a but?) I've seen the details of these new help to buy ISA's and the logical part of my brain says 4% interest plus 25% top up from the gov..... much better use of my money! current outstanding debt is £2375. was planning on paying it off at £500 per month, so 5 months, but by only paying £300 a month, and putting the remaining £200 into the ISA, means debt-free in 8 months instead but also eligible for an extra £400 (after 8months of £200) plus 4%interest.
makes sense yes?
so why do I feel so bad? I just wanna be debt-free and not have it hanging over me like a dark cloud. will I ever clear this debt or will I just spend forever transferring it to another 2% card (which i''m really worried will happen as unexpected bills do like popping up when you least expect/want them)
2016 GOALS:
PAY OFF CC - £2375 (currently on 0% deal)
MAXIMISE HELP TO BUY ISA
BUY OUR HA HOME WHEN RTB EXTENDED

  • If you can afford £500 per month to pay your cc debt, then life can't be so bad. Many people on this board would find paying £5 difficult. Count your blessings and stop worrying!

I think it's a normal emotion. I know I feel it hanging over me at times.

  • I'm in a near identical situation only with more debt than you and I'm going for it. If you trust yourself to stop using that card, then do it.

I'm also in a near identical situation, however I have decided to hold off on the help to buy ISA until I am completely debt free. I know I will lose out as my small amount of remaining debt is at 0% and I could get 4% interest on savings, however I have decided that being debt free is more important to me at this stage.
