  • A few more UU's for me.

Ted Baker Shower Gel - This was ok WNBA as it really didn't lather well and was quite thick.

Avon Lavender Bubble Bath 1 litre - I really liked this. Made loads of bubbles and smelled amazing. I have one more in stash and then will stock up when on offer.

English Laundry Perfume - This was a sample I received in a birchbox and it was ok. Smelled quite nice but I would not pay the prices some stores want for the full size.

Hotel Soap - Small hotel soap which I brought home from holiday. It was ok really nothing special.
  • Christmas is near, very exciting :)
GA into friend's gift boxes - 4x anatomicals products, 12x Lush bath bombs/bubble bars

    UU:
Lush - Frozen bath bomb - wba
Lush - Salted coconut hand scrub - wnba
    Eye collagen mask
Lush - Don't look at me face mask

    Total: 20
Good luck everyone! My friends are sending me so many beauty products for Christmas so I'm only keeping those that I love and re-gifting or donating the ones I don't.
    No buying toiletries challenge

  • Discovered a near trick off a YouTube video that I thought I'd share...

    Here's the link: https://youtu.be/UaFp_NQtY0EE

Video contains a recipe for homemade shower oil. Wash as normal with your soap or shower gel. Rub a little shower oil all over yourself and then rinse off. Results: super soft skin from a small amount of product.

Tried this idea out with my Sanctuary spa light spray moisturiser one day and with my bio oil the next. Was really pleased with the results! A little goes a very long way and leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft.... Can't wait to try it out a little longer.

In the spirit of the thread I'm gonna use up my bio oil and sanctuary spa spray and then try my own recipe with almond oil and coconut oil :) Looking forward to it!

  • Has anyone ever written to companies asking for samples?
There's quite a number of brands I'd like to try but hate wasting money on products I might not like.

I don't get to department stores that give away samples very often, so thought I might write. Is it a waste of time (and stamps)?
  • Finally getting round to posting my UU for the month.

    - Antipodes Joyful Hand and Body cream (full size). I got this as a gift with purchase and WNB. It's lovely texture but it's very expensive to buy and the smell is a bit too sweet for me (blackcurrant), I prefer citruses, florals or even woody smells.

    - Antipodes Joyous night serum (full size). I MBA - debating between this, the Balance Me oil I've been using or an Emma Hardie face oil I am just starting. No need to buy for a month or two anyway.

    - Sample tube of REN hydra calm cleansing gel - this is a HG, nice gentle face wash.

    - REN Flash rinse 1 minute facial (full size). I MBA - I have another free full size I got as a GWP recently and some sample sizes.

    - KMS Moist repair leave in conditioner. WNBA - it's so light it doesn't do much for my hair.

    - Biofresh rose eye cream - I bought this on holiday in Bulgaria and I am not sure they ship to this country. It was pretty good value for money and I loved the smell, but I'd need to find somewhere that imports to the UK.

    - Yes to cucumbers soothing face wipes. This was a small pack I got in a beauty box and I was impressed with them as face wipes go. I wouldn't generally use at home but now I am dating and will be getting ready to go out at work I might buy some to keep at the office.
  • hello everyone!

I have INs, 2 from my love lula box. got a night cream worth £26 and toner worth £15 so I'm pretty impressed with it this month! also was a couple of sachets that i don't count in the stash and 3 tiny bottles of other staples that will be UU pretty much straight away.

    UU
FOM body oil mini- WMBA, i don't think it lived up to the body contouring claims but it did have a nice smell and it was moisturising.
Balance Me oil cleaner - WNBA this was too heavy for my face and it didn't like the exfoliating beads being used every day so repurposed as shaving cream and it did a pretty good job of that!
John Masters conditioner - WMBA, this is nice but expensive for what it does.
Bare Minerals mineral veil - WBA if in a set, i think on its own its too pricey.

    also got a GA:
Charlotte Tilbury supermodel body - GA to my mum, it came in my advent calendar and theres no way id ever use this!
  • I forgot one of my UU

Dr Bronner Almond shower gel. I got this in my LoveLula box a while ago. I think it's a nice gentle shower gel but I am not overly fond of the smell of almonds. Would consider buying one of the others in the range.

Satin Care Shaving Gel - does the job, but I might not buy dedicated shaving gel again when hair conditioner does just as good a job.

  • In micelluar water garnier was 1/3 off and so much better than Nivea. I think the nivea is more chemical than water (it feels more solvent like than garnier) and new Rimmel lipstick in nude Kate.

I don't really need anything but never stopped me in the past. I think looking purposely look one thing only has helped limit the splurging.

So currently in the middle of a lazy week or two no make up, toner or anything. The skin is looking really well, but have increased the amount of linseed and oily fish. The fish and linseed, not in the same meal, seems to have settled down all the inflammation and blotchyness, which required the intensive make up and skin care for the last few months.
