I was considering buying some eyelet curtains but I have never had them in the house so I was wondering do they have a taped head on them to attach a thermal liner?

As far as I know they don't. Well I have never seen any.
we have Thermal liners that's why we don't have eyelet curtains.

I have eyelet curtains and bought these blackout linings from Dunelm Mill to use with them http://www.dunelm.com/product/blackout-eyelet-curtain-linings-1000015876?cmCategoryId=34164
Basically, they look like a normal flat curtain with a small header tape, which then hooks onto extra rings and hangs at the back of your eyelet curtain (hope I've explained that properly) Everything you need is supplied and I've been very happy with mine for about 3 years now.
