Paying bills when away from home

I shall be away for 2 weeks shortly and I want to know if your credit card statement is due when you are away or Next statement how would you pay it so you do not miss the due date which is also whilst you are away for example?

I take it you don't use online banking ??

I can set a "pay by" date so it leaves at the right time

Yes I do but those particular bills mentioned are not set up by DD as I like to pay them off each month so there would be no min payment.

Set online banking to pay that account on a certain day.

I have DDs set up for the minimum amounts so I know that I'm never going to miss making a payment. Then I pay any extra via internet banking once I get paid.

Create a 'Bill Payment' (not same as a Direct Debit) and you can pay what you like, whenever you like. I would always advise you to set up a DD for the minimum payment for CCs anyway, then you are certain not to get caught out if you were ill in hospital for example and unable to do your usual online banking. You can then always pay off some more - or even the full amount with an online bill payment.

Edit: Sorry Red74, I just don't type fast enough!
